Be amazed by one of the world's greatest waterfalls: Gocta. Inmerse in this adventure and access to one of the highest falls in the world, measuring 771 m high (2 530 feet), by a 6-hour hiking or horseback ride through a path in which we will able to feel the nature and have many photos opportunities of the Gocta falls from different angles. Take a fresh shower from the waterfall’s spray, hear its roar and sense the mist of the falls. You can not miss this unique experience!
Not recommended for participants with serious medical conditions, pregnant woman or people with back problems. Level of difficulty is moderate
Early in the morning we will depart from Chachapoyas City and after an hour and a quarter journey, we will get to the village called Cocachimba, located 26 miles (42 km) from Chachapoyas city. From here we will start our hiking or horseback riding to Gocta waterfall. This waterfall is considered one of the tallest waterfalls in the world, at 2,530 feet high (771 meters).
The hiking to Gocta waterfalls takes two hours and a half approximately. In the path, we will discover undescriptible landscapes, hear the sound of nature and smell the surrounding jungle. There are good chances to observe monkeys and the Peruvian bird cock of the rock.
Gocta waterfalls will receive us with a fresh spray and its roar. The sense of mysticism will surround us. You can go for a swim but the pool beneath the falls is deep, freezing and darkness color. Otherwise we suggest to relax and absorb the energy.
At the return to Cocachimba Village, we will have lunch to then continue our return to Chachapoyas city.
